  1. Village Council Action Items –

  1. DPW Front-End Loader New Fenders and Toolbox. On May 17, 2021 the Village Council Unanimously approved the investment of new front-end loaders for our 2008 Loader.  The approved budget amount was to not exceed. $10,000.00.  The cost for 2 new front fenders, 2 new rear fenders, and a new tool box for the front-end loader is $5,949.58.  The items would be purchased from Alta Construction Equipment located in Byron Center, Michigan.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve the purchase of requested equipment.

  1. DPW Front-End Loader Rims/Wheels: The front end loader is in need of 2 new rims/wheels (The tires were purchased last year).  The original rims/wheels have caused multiple flat tires due to the corrosion and deterioration.  The cost to fix a tire alone cost over $300.00.  The cost of the 2 new wheels are $4,559.73 from Goodyear and are purchased under the MIDeals program. This was not originally requested within the 2021-2022 FY budget presentation as the issue became apparent within the past 60 days.  There is sufficient funds to purchase this needed equipment.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve the purchase of requested equipment.

  1. SKCFA Draft Audit –

A copy of the DRAFT Fire Authority audit is attached.  The Village Council should be aware of the following information:

1.The multiple year finding of material audit adjustments:

  3. No Adjustments of Prepaid items at year-end
  4. No conversion to fund-base accounting
  5. Net position increase of $264,000 with a total fund balance almost $2 million dollars.
  6. No long-term debt or any liabilities other than A/P.
  7. Page 11 highlights a fund balance synopsis of what these funds are earmarked for, including $579,299.00 that are unassigned.
